Finding A Good Teacher Resume Example

Finding A Good Teacher Resume ExampleWhen you are out to find a job in the teaching profession, a good looking teacher resume is vital. Resume examples do exist that can make a huge difference in your search. However, finding them can be difficult as many of them are old and out of date.As a teacher, I found that it was difficult to obtain a position at a college level because most colleges do not like to hire teachers from non-traditional schools. Also, students are much more apt to look for someone who has a proven track record rather than someone who only teaches part time. A teacher resume examples that lists their accomplishments or the number of students they have taught in the past is usually all that is needed.Another problem with teacher resume examples is that many of them focus on one aspect of a teacher's job. For example, a school teacher may have a top class that the school year only needs and they list this in their description, but never do they cover other skills suc h as special education, social studies, science or language arts. Other examples include an interview for a managerial position, which includes math skills, but not an English proficiency test, and a resume that shows a career with a large number of years in the field, yet does not provide details about the school the teacher attended. What I found was that by being different, I was able to put myself ahead of many applicants for a position where I would be successful. By looking at more than one resume example, I was able to narrow down my search and my answer to the question: 'What are my qualifications?'I have collected several sample teacher resume examples from the internet and submitted them to several career centers. Within a couple weeks, I received a call from a potential employer to discuss what I had written and other requirements for the position. Most of the resumes were outstanding and covered most of the bases in terms of an applicant's experience and education. In fac t, they listed achievements that included a mix of classroom, in-the-field teaching, as well as sports, life experience and some advanced courses taken. The key to choosing the right teacher resume example is to focus on the candidate's educational background. If a candidate is willing to list only one course or discipline, they may be unwilling to tell me more about their work. Often, this type of self-examination is what leads someone to success in the teaching profession. However, an applicant must not feel that the mere addition of a new discipline, special education or sports must disqualify an applicant. Finally, remember that teacher resume examples will only work for some people. If you are in a position that would benefit from someone with a longer track record of teaching, you should consider the variety of schools and disciplines that exist for hiring a successful teacher.
